Rosalie Rendu Center Staff

Sister Trinitas Hernandez

Executive Director

Sister Trinitas Hernandez, affectionately known as Sister T, founded the Rosalie Rendu Center in 1996 and serves as the Executive Director. Since joining the Daughters of Charity at the age of 18, Sister T has dedicated her life to serving the poor. Her compassion for bettering the community is evident in everything she does at the Center, ranging from teaching ESL classes to fundraising for field trips and educational programs.

Maria Lozano

ESL Teacher / Instructional Program Coordinator

As an ESL teacher at the Center, Maria leads students through the foundations of reading, writing and speaking the English language. Maria is passionate about educating non-native English speakers and is actively establishing collaborative relationships between the Center and several local organizations that promote literacy for children and adults.

Sister Patricia Geoghegan

ESL Teacher

Sister Patricia is a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. She teaches ESL to second level students. She has had extensive experience working with Latinx in various venues and countries. Seeing her students advance and improve in work and in social situations brings her joy.

Jason Sugimura

ESL Teacher

A TESOL certificate recipient from UC Santa Cruz Extension, Jason is passionate about helping learners achieve their English language literacy goals by using natural, authentic, and meaningful approaches to acquiring language. Jason’s language teaching methodology is influenced by this tenet: one of the most important things for people is to be understood.

Jeanna Essick

Administrative Assistant

Jeanna manages our database and provides administrative support to Sister T and Maria. Her extensive experience in the non-profit educational sector makes her a perfect match for the Rosalie Rendu Center.

Cynthia Fagan

ESL Teacher

Cynthia is teaching 17 students on Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday night. The students are excited to take advantage of this time to learn and study together. She earned her bachelor’s degree at UC Santa Cruz. She has taught English in Tokyo, Japan, Watsonville and San Jose at adult education schools and in private companies. Two interesting things about Cynthia: she traveled on her own in Italy for 6 weeks and she likes to scuba dive.

Maria Macias

Tot Spot Supervisor

Maria has joined our team as our Tot Spot Supervisor. The young children of our students just love her! Maria said she took the job because she loves children. And, as the mother of eleven children and ten grandchildren, her credentials are outstanding.
