Sister Trinitas Hernandez, D.C., affectionately known as Sister T, founded the Rosalie Rendu Center in 1998. She stepped down as the Executive Director in 2023 and now serves as the Volunteer Coordinator. Since joining the Daughters of Charity at the age of 18, Sister T has dedicated her life to serving the poor. Her compassion for bettering the community is evident in everything she does at the Center.

Maria Lozano

Maria Lozano started at the RRC as an ESL teacher in 2014 and added the role of Instructional Program Coordinator in 2016, working closely with Sr. T to enhance and expand the RRC’s programs. Maria was appointed Executive Director in 2023. Maria is passionate about educating non-native English speakers and is actively establishing collaborative relationships between the Center and the community to improve the lives of immigrants and their families.

Jim Hawley

After 20 years as a software engineer, Jim decided he wanted to work more closely with people and found his passion in teaching. He obtained a TEFL/ESL certification and has taught English/ESL in the US and overseas for many years. He is skilled at keeping his students engaged with learning and practicing their new language. He joined the Rosalie Rendu Center staff in 2023.

Jason Sugimura

A TESOL certificate recipient from UC Santa Cruz Extension, Jason is passionate about helping learners achieve their English language literacy goals by using natural, authentic, and meaningful approaches to acquiring language. Jason’s language teaching methodology is influenced by this tenet: one of the most important things for people is to be understood.

Sandra Godoy

Administrative Assistant

Sandra manages our database, provides administrative support to Maria and Sister T, and coordinates events at the RRC. Her experience in working at the East Palo Alto Library and her passion for helping others makes her a perfect match for the Rosalie Rendu Center.

Maria Macias

Tot Spot Supervisor

Maria has joined our team as our Tot Spot Supervisor. The young children of our students just love her! Maria said she took the job because she loves children. And, as the mother of eleven children and ten grandchildren, her credentials are outstanding.
